Bad Instagram Poetry, And This Week's Other Best Memes, Ranked | Digg (2024)

Another week, another Taylor Swift meme.

Here at Digg, we try our best to cover the most important and confounding memes that come across the timeline. But the web is littered with tons of great memes that never quite hit the mainstream and instead just bounce around the weird corners of Twitter or Reddit. Enter our recurring feature,Memes, Ranked.

This week, we've got bad two-line poems, reactions to the "Orange Peel Theory" and yet another Taylor Swift meme.

3. Orange Peel Theory

The Meme

Right now, people on TikTok, X and other platforms are talking about the "Orange Peel Theory," a trend in which people ask their romantic partners to peel an orange for them. We've written a handy explainer of the whole thing here, but, put simply: whether or not your partner will peel an orange for you is an indicator of how loving and supportive they are — according to the theory, anyway. As with most viral trends, this one has become meme fodder for the masses.

2. Taylor Swift behind frosted glass

The Meme

Another week, another Taylor Swift meme! The most famous pop star in the world is continuing her world domination tour, and while 2023 was the year of Taylor Alison (according to TIME), it seems she's picking 2024 up right where she left off. Her trips to Kansas City Chiefs games to root for her boyfriend Travis Kelce have been picked up by TV cameras and fans in the stands everywhere.

The most recent game was Saturday night, where the temperature in Kansas City was in the negatives, and that meant the usual booth she watches the game from had frost all over the glass. Instant meme material.

🎵 My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all
And even if I could, it'd all be gray
But your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it's not so bad
It's not so bad🎵

1. Instagram poetry

The Meme

Almost a year ago, X user @sonyashea3 posted a screenshot of a lousy poem they'd seen on Instagram. "He didn't like drama, and I was f*cking Shakespeare," it reads.

For some reason, that post is doing the rounds on the app once again — and this time, people are quoting it with their own silly, two-line poems.
