Are you thinking about joining the World Financial Group as a new business venture? You may be curious about this business and its products. I was as well which led me to write this post.
World Financial Group (WFG) is a multi-level marketing company that specializes in selling investment, insurance, and various other financial products through a network of distributors in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. [Source: Wikipedia]
I am associated with a multi-level marketing company as well but I do not actively build a downline and haven’t done so in years. I much prefer to build niche websites and earn income through affiliate marketing (more on that later.)
However, World Financial Group did spark my interest as I have yet to come across an MLM that doesn’t sell physical products related to health, weight loss, travel, etc.
How I Make $1,000 Commissions
Hey there! I’m Eartha, the author of this website and an affiliate marketer. Thanks to affiliate marketing, I was able to work my way out of a full-time retail job. I don’t need my own product, there is no order fulfillment, and zero customer service. Click the link below and I’ll share exactly how I’m able to make $1,000 – $2,000 commissions:
How World Finacial Group Works
As mentioned above, World Financial Group is a multi-level marketing company. They sell various financial services and insurance products from providers such as TransAmerica, Nationwide, Prudential, and more.
These products are sold by WFG independent business owners. This is how you would earn commissions. Another way to make commissions is by building your team (network) by recruiting others.
I have read that you will need to obtain a license to sell insurance before you can begin selling insurance through WFG. This will include studying and passing an exam in your state.
As far as I could find, there is an administrative fee of $100 to join World Financial Group.
How to Make Money with World Financial Group
You can read more about how the compensation plan works here. For the most part, you earn commissions on the products that you sell such as insurance plans, retirement plans, personal legacy plans, and more.
As you build your network of team members (a.k.a your downline) you will earn a portion of their commissions as well.
What is important to keep in mind here is that you will be selling. MLMs involve selling so if you are not comfortable with sales and closing people, it may not be the best business model for you.
In most cases, you’ll have to learn how to sell if you do not have selling skills already. That may mean learning how to overcome objections and how to use rebuttals.
One thing MLMs offer is training so if you are new to selling, you’ll have training to refer to as well as mentors in your upline.
Getting leads is often the most challenging task for many people in a multi-level marketing company. After you have reached out to family and friends, you have no choice but to contact strangers which is nerve-racking.
The recruiting process is when many people quit. The good news is that thanks to the internet, we can now use attraction marketing to generate leads.
MLSP (My Lead System Pro) is a service that has been teaching network marketers how to generate leads online for years using content marketing, sales funnels, and more.
The internet gives you access to a larger audience that may have an interest in what you are offering.
Ed Mylett and World Financial Group
If you follow Ed Mylett, you may or may not know that he got his start with World Financial Group. If you do not know who Ed Mylett is, he is a motivational speaker and has a popular YouTube channel and podcast.
He interviews some really amazing people and if you follow him on Instagram, he’s always posting motivational messages.
His success is definitely inspirational but it did not come easy. I’ve listened to his backstory and he went through a lot of struggle before he reached success.
Why I Do Not Build My Downline
I briefly mentioned above that I am part of a multi-level marketing company myself. It is called Beachbody and you can read a bit about my Beachbody journey here.
I was never comfortable with building a downline which is common for many people. Instead, I sold Beachbody products by building a niche website on the topic of health & fitness.
In my blog posts, I would talk about the Beachbody products that I used and linked to them using my store links that had my coach ID attached to them.
When people clicked on those links and purchased products, I received credit (commissions). I never had to meet people and sell them the products directly.
Essentially, I marketed the products on a niche website using affiliate marketing strategies that I use today in my own business.
Why I Prefer Affiliate Marketing
Once I discovered affiliate marketing, I knew it was what I wanted to do. Affiliate marketing has so many benefits that I like to include:
- You don’t need your own product
- No packing or shipping products
- There is no customer service
- Millions of products have affiliate programs
- Affiliate programs are free to join
- Unlimited earning potential
- No recruiting (not an MLM)
- Work from anywhere
I make consistent affiliate commissions today by building niche websites. I choose niches that interest me and create content (blog posts) to attract targeted visitors to my websites.
When visitors click on my affiliate links and buy what it is I recommend, I earn a commission. You can join any number of affiliate programs at no cost.
Major corporations run affiliate programs to include companies like Amazon, Walmart, Target, Petco, and more.
There is an affiliate program for almost any niche that you want to pursue. Like BBQing? Create a niche website about it and promote BBQ grills and accessories.
Like any business, affiliate marketing has a learning curve but it is really easy to learn. Even though I had a bit of experience with it when I started, I wanted to follow a proven plan.
I searched for an affiliate marketing training program and found this one. The training helped me to progress faster than if I had figured it all out on my own.
My Closing Thoughts On World Financial Group
World Financial Group is one of the few multi-level marketing companies that has been around for many years. If you have an interest in personal finance, it may be the type of MLM you are looking for.
The most challenging aspect of any MLM is generating a consistent number of leads. Without leads, you cannot build your business.
If you want to pursue WFG or any other MLM for that matter, consider learning how to use the internet to have targeted leads coming to you. MLSP is a great platform for multi-level marketers to learn how to do that.
Niche websites are what I use to earn a consistent income online through affiliate marketing.
It is one of the best ways to earn affiliate commissions. I make commissions while I am sleeping, out grocery shopping, or relaxing with my loved ones.
Beginners may find it a bit challenging to get started. I did as well so I followed a step-by-step training program.
