Get ready for an adrenaline-fueled journey as we dive into the exciting world of Gran Turismo 7's Daily Races! The dust has barely settled from the thrilling Gran Turismo World Series in LA, and already, a new Manufacturers Cup Exhibition Season is about to kick off. It's the perfect time to explore the fresh set of Daily Races and uncover some hidden gems.
This week, we're shaking things up with a unique set of regulations. Driver Ratings (DR) are back in the spotlight, offering a chance to boost your DR and climb the online league ladder. And let's not forget the Sportsmanship Rating (SR) updates, keeping everyone on their toes.
But here's where it gets interesting: the one-make road car series in Race A has an unusual car on display. It's not just any car; it's the Hyundai Genesis Coupe, a rare attempt by Hyundai to create a sporty coupe from their executive car line. A true gem that didn't quite make it through the brand's transition to a standalone entity.
The Genesis Coupe boasts a simple yet powerful front-engine, rear-wheel-drive setup with a 345hp, 3.8-liter V6 engine. It's a car with character, but unfortunately, it didn't find its place in a crowded market. Now, you have the chance to experience its prowess in a five-lap race at Monza, specifically on the "No Chicane" layout, where you'll hit high speeds on the Curva Grande.
All cars in this race are in standard spec, so be cautious of late braking in the slipstream; you don't want to become a pinball!
After the F1 action at Interlagos, it's your turn to shine in the next seven days. And this time, you'll be racing in the Gr.4 category, a GT4-like class featuring stripped-back road cars tweaked for the track. With various powertrains and engine placements, this class offers a unique challenge.
The Balance of Performance (BOP) in Gr.4 can be tricky, often favoring a select few cars. For this week's race on Racing Medium tires, the Citroen GT by Citroen seems to be the preferred choice, but there are other contenders on the leaderboard.
Finally, we move on to Race C, a strategic 11-lap race on the classic Trial Mountain circuit with Gr.3 cars. Gr.3 is usually well-balanced, but the leaderboard might be dominated by BMW M6s. Remember, one-lap pace doesn't always translate to race pace, especially with a non-trivial tire wear multiplier and a mandatory tire grade switch.
You'll need to use both Racing Medium and Racing Soft tires in this race, so a pit stop is mandatory before the final lap. With a 4x tire wear multiplier, you'll want to ensure you use each tire type once to avoid a one-minute penalty.
The pit lane at Trial Mountain can be tricky, and crossing the solid white lines will result in a three-second penalty.
Gran Turismo 7's Daily Races are the main ranked multiplayer events, where your DR and SR are determined by your performance. These ratings are crucial for your ranking and league placement in the game's flagship esports series.
To access these races, you'll need to unlock Sport Mode by completing Menu Book 9 in the GT Cafe single-player hub. A PlayStation Plus subscription is a must.
GT7's Daily Races update every Monday, and the next set is expected on November 17.
