Our daughter's favorite movie when she was little was The Incredibles. She watched it so many times that our disc eventually wore out. If you have seen the movies, you know that baby Jack Jack adores his cookies.

One of the best Disney treats is the Num Num Cookie. It can be found in Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World or at Pixel Pier in Disneyland. There is something so good about enjoying that giant warm cookie while standing in Disney.

Who needs to travel when you can create Mickey Mouse fun in your own kitchen, right? Ok, ok! It's not quite the same, but hey, it's kind of close.

Our kids have been giving me strange looks as I keep making Disney copycat recipes. But hey, it hasn't stopped them from devouring each one in record time.

Main Ingredients

These awesome Jack Jack cookies are easy to make with simple ingredients that are found in a chocolate chip cookie. In fact, you probably have everything in your pantry already. Once you try the recipe, you will want to make them over and over.

  • Butter - Softened butter gives these chocolate chip cookies a great buttery flavor.
  • Sugar - Using a mixture of granulated sugar and brown sugar makes the cookies soft and chewy.
  • Eggs - Binds the ingredients together.
  • Flour - Adds structure to the dough. Make sure you are adding the right amount. See how to measure flour the right way.
  • Baking Soda - Provides a little bit of lift and rise as the cookies bake.
  • Chocolate - Using chocolate chunks will give you the closest look and taste to the Disney cookies. You can also use regular chocolate chips.

How to make Num Num Cookies

These individual deep dish chocolate chip cookies come baked in a paper cup. The free standing baking liners help the Num Num cookies keep their shape when baked on a sheet pan.

  1. Beat the butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix again.
  2. Stir together the dry ingredients and slowly mix into the butter mixture. Do not over mix the dough.
  3. Add most of the chocolate chunks and stir in them gently.
  4. Place ½ cup of cookie dough into each paper liner and press the dough out evenly. The liner should be about ½ full. Do not over fill, or they will bake over the tops of the liners.
  5. Press extra chocolate chunks into the tops of the dough and bake for 22-24 minutes. Let cool on pan for 5 minutes.
  6. Serve the Jack Jack Num Num Cookies while they are warm and gooey for best results.
  7. Want an even more decadent and delicious treat? Add a scoop of ice cream and hot fudge to the warm cookies and dig in!

Recipe Tips

  • Do not over mix the cookie dough. Stop your mixer as soon as all the dry ingredients are incorporated.
  • Use a ½ cup measuring cup to ensure that all your cookies are the same size.
  • Bake the cookies in paper liners. Plan ahead before you make these cookies. You will need to buy some 3 ½-inch or 4-inch round baking liners to make this copycat Disney recipe.
  • Make sure the sides of the paper liners are at least 1 ¼ inches tall or the cookies will spill over when baking.
  • Feel free to change up the chocolate chunks and use any flavor of chocolate chips that you like. Peanut butter, butterscotch, white, or dark chips would all be awesome in these cookies.

Storage Recommendations

Counter: Keep the cooled cookies in an air tight container on the counter for 3-4 days.

Freezer: Place the cookies in freezer safe bags or containers and freeze 1-2 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight.

Reheat: Place a num num cookie in the microwave for 10-20 seconds.

What type of chocolate? I've had problems with some of your recipes not giving detailed ingredients . Such as the chocolate spider donuts. chocolate, melted. Dip in melted chocolate. I finally decided to go with Ghirardelli semi sweet chips and a scant tablespoon of shortening melted in the double boiler. Those were the best baked donuts ever! My family loved them! I haven't been to Disneyland in years. I have no idea what to use in the cookies, milk, semi sweet? What brand makes all the difference in taste as well. I would really appreciate your advice. Thank You!

For the cookies you can use your favorite brand/type of chocolate chunks. I usually buy Nestle chunks or the Trader Joe's brand, both are semi-sweet. Most chocolate brands sell bagged chunks in the baking aisle. Most of the time I do not specify certain brands or types of chocolate because everyone has their own taste preferences. Thank you so much for the feedback on the donuts. I'm glad you enjoyed them. In the recipe it called for chocolate "melts". I usually buy Ghirardelli melting wafers, so I added a photo in the recipe card and also changed the wording in the recipe to make it clearer. I really hope that helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to message me.

O M G ! My husband's favorite character is Jack Jack and one of our favorite rides is the Incredicoaster at California Adventure complete with a stop for a Jack Jack cookie afterwards. Who knows when we'll be able to go again so you cannot even begin to know what a treat these will be for us. THANK YOU!!

I don't usually do gluten free baking, so I checked with a friend who does. She says her favorite is a brand called Cup 4 Cup, and she gets it on Amazon. I hope that helps and you enjoy the cookies!

Wondering if this recipe would work using 4" springform pans? 4" ramekins? Your thoughts?

    • Jocelyn

My first initial thought is yes, I think it would work. You have me so curious that I have some 4 inch springform pans in my Amazon cart right now. As far as the ramekins, it is really up to the size of it. Most of the glass ramekins I saw on amazon had 1 inch sides which may make the cookie bake over. The paper liners I used were 3 1/2 inches across the bottom, 4 inches across the top, and 1 1/4 inches tall. I hope that info helps. And if I get the springform pans, I will let you know how it works.
